Find an opportunity by e-mail or phone
Type the contact's e-mail or phone into the Search by name, email or phone… field at the top of the pipeline. The search returns the opportunities that contact belongs to, even when you don't know their name or the opportunity's name.
Before you start — you need access to the pipeline the opportunity lives in. The search only covers the pipeline you have open: if the contact has opportunities in other pipelines, switch pipeline and search again.
Search by the contact
- Open the pipeline.
- Click the Search by name, email or phone… field, on the left of the bar above the stages.
- Paste or type the contact's e-mail, phone or name.
The board updates as you type. Stages show only the opportunities that match, and the count at the top of each stage follows what stayed visible.
The same search works in both views: the stage board and the list view.
What the search looks at
You don't have to type the whole value: any fragment works. Searching for @company.com brings up every opportunity of that company's contacts.
Paste the phone however you have it
The phone works formatted or not. These four forms find the same contact:
(11) 99999-888811 99999-8888119999988885511999998888
So you can copy the number straight from the WhatsApp conversation and paste it into the search, without stripping brackets, spaces or dashes.
Clear the search
Delete the text in the field. The board goes back to showing every opportunity in the pipeline.
Frequently asked questions
Does the search consider the contact's secondary e-mail? No. Only the contact's main e-mail is searched.
What if the contact's WhatsApp number is different from the registered phone? The search uses the contact's phone. If the number you have isn't in that field, search by e-mail or by name.
Does the search combine with the board filters? Yes. Search and filters add up: the board shows what matches both at once.
